The Full Mouth Dental Implant Process

1

Consultation

In your initial appointment at Carrum Downs Family Dental, we’ll talk to you about your dental journey. We will then assess your teeth, bone and bite using a CBCT X-ray and 3D digital intraoral scans. We’ll make sure you are a good candidate and discuss alternative options and risks of the procedure as well.

2

Placing the implants

Based on our comprehensive records, we will have constructed a precise surgical guide that allows treatment to be performed under guidance. At this appointment, we remove all remaining teeth and place 4 to 6 dental implants. Within 48 hours, you will have a temporary bridge or denture that you can use for 3 months to ensure everything is healed.

3

Final Implant Bridge

Your final full mouth implant bridge is inserted. We would have taken some new scans a few weeks before and given you a trial mockup of your smile for your approval. The final bridge will come with a titanium backing for excellent strength and simply gets screwed into your existing implants.

All treatment carries risks. Individual consultations are required with one of our practitioners to ensure that the treatment is right for you. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
